The Department of Operations, Innovation, and Data Sciences at ESADE Business School is seeking to appoint a full-time, tenure-track faculty member with focus on Operations Management at the level of Assistant Professor (Tenure-track) or Associate Professor (with Tenure).

Starting date: Fall, 2025.

Candidates must have completed a PhD or an equivalent program of study by the start date. In addition, they must demonstrate a trajectory of scholarship in their areas of specialization and possess the potential and motivation to publish high-quality, impactful research in leading academic journals. Furthermore, candidates must demonstrate a foundation upon which a successful teaching career can be developed across the school’s diverse portfolio of undergraduate, postgraduate, and executive education programs.

We are particularly interested in scholars at the intersection of Operations Management, Artificial Intelligence (AI) and/or Sustainability. Specifically, we seek scholars with a strong background in operations management and expertise in AI techniques or sustainability. However, we will also consider candidates with strong backgrounds in operations and management science in general.

The Department of Operations, Innovation, and Data Sciences at ESADE is a growing and dynamic group focused on tackling issues that concern the study of methodological issues related to Operations Management, Innovation, Information Systems, Technology, Statistics, Applied Mathematics, and Artificial Intelligence. Under this broad motivation, our research spans different orientations and methodologies, placing as much importance on theoretical research as on the empirical approach. From the standpoint of teaching, we constantly strive to improve the classroom experience and translate our research interests and findings to ideas and advice that is of practical use. This effort is aided by the school’s Centre for Educational Innovation.

ESADE, which comprises a business and a law school, is a member of the Ramon Llull University. The stated mission is “to educate highly-professional individuals aware of their responsibilities as national and global citizens, sensitive to issues of solidarity and social justice, and keen to engage in collective projects,” and the tagline is “inspiring futures.” The school currently operates campuses in Barcelona and Madrid, and it has several collaboration agreements with renowned international educational institutions.

The position is for tenure track candidates. Decisions about contract renewal and promotion are based on individual performance. The salary and teaching requirements tied to the position are competitive. It is not a requirement to speak Spanish, as the school is fully international. However, for non-Spanish-speaking candidates language support is provided, if desired.
