The Department of Operations, Innovation, and Data Sciences at ESADE Business School in Barcelona is seeking to appoint a full-time, tenure-track faculty member in Data Science, with a focus on Artificial Intelligence (AI) and/or quantitative methods for social sciences at the level of Assistant Professor (Tenure-track) or Associate Professor (with Tenure).

Starting date: Fall 2025.

Candidates must have completed a PhD or equivalent program of study by the start date. In addition, they must demonstrate a trajectory of scholarship in the areas of specialization, and the potential and motivation to publish high-quality, impactful research in leading academic journals. Finally, the candidate must demonstrate a foundation upon which a successful teaching career can be developed across the school’s diverse portfolio of undergraduate, postgraduate, and executive education programs.

Scholars in computational social science who have a research or teaching interest in (i) Artificial Intelligence, and/or (ii) in methodology in the social science, are especially encouraged to apply.

The Department of Operations, Innovation, and Data Sciences at ESADE is a growing and dynamic group focused on tackling issues that concern the study of methodological issues related to Operations Management, Innovation, Information Systems, Technology, Statistics, Methodology, Applied Mathematics, and Artificial Intelligence. Under this broad motivation, our research spans different orientations and methodologies, placing as much importance on theoretical research as on the empirical approach. From the standpoint of teaching, we constantly strive to improve the classroom experience and translate our research interests and findings to ideas and advice that is of practical use. This effort is aided by the school’s Centre for Educational Innovation.

ESADE, which comprises a business and a law school, is a member of Ramon Llull University. The position is for tenure-track candidates. Decisions about contract renewal and promotion are based on research, teaching, and service. The salary and teaching requirements tied to the position are competitive. Almost all teaching, and all official communications in the school are conducted in English. Knowledge of Spanish is not required, but for non-Spanish-speaking candidates language support is provided, if desired.
